Kontoura White A native Greek grape variety planted in Musses Valley from the time that Isiodos cultivated this lands.The great Greek poet & philosopher was born and raised at the slopes of Elikonas mountain, in Askre in the ancient times(around 700BC).3650 years of winemaking at the slopes of Elikonas.The vineyards are mostly cultivated by hand and the harvest is done by hand.This is how, with the help of our unique "terroir" we make wines that have a special character & identity. The vineyard owned by Samartzis Bros Company is located in the vine-growing zone of the Koilada ton Mouson (Valley of the Musses), outside the village of Askre. It spreads on one side across the foot of mount Elikonas, in slopes with an altitude of 420 to 460 meters and on the other side over a low hill at an altitude of 380-430 meters; it lies there protected against the south warm winds, whilst the north winds blowing from the heart of mount Elikonas act beneficially as they cool down the vineyards.Most of our vineyards are dry cultivated.Only a small portion of the estate is low irrigated and from this part of our vineyards we produce our typical "terroir" wine under the name "two rivers".
